From the desert rose at my tomorrow bike.

Desert Rose is the name given to rosette formations of the minerals gypsum and barite with sand inclusions. The 'petals' are crystals flattened, fanning open along characteristic gypsum cleavage planes. The rosette crystal habit tends to occur when the crystals form in arid sandy conditions, such as the evaporation of a shallow salt basin. Desert roses are only found in deserts, which is how they got the name. Gypsum Selenite Desert Roses are mostly from the Sahara Middle East Region, Southwest USA and Mexico. The Barite Rose Rocks are more abundant in Oklahoma than anywhere else in the world and are the state rock of Oklahoma. Once these rock formations reach the surface, they are eroded quickly by the forces of wind and water.

Inspired by the formation of these crystals, scientists have developed a revolutionary method of obtaining new materials with nanometric structure controlled. In fact, the experts of Washington State University have used liquid mixtures of substances to which they added silver particles. It must be said that silver was chosen for his extraordinary ability to be machined to very small dimensions. The researchers found that when a certain manipulate drops containing silver, after the expiry of a certain period liquids evaporate leaving behind microscopic structures formed of regular particles of silver. These observations have led to the development of a method to control the formation of the silver atoms structures, so as to obtain new materials which can be used for either the electrical or electronics industry or in other areas such as medicine (production of artificial bone), obtaining lightweight and durable (with special applications in the field exo-skeletons), etc.

A scientific study with well-defined conclusions will be published in the next period in Science Advanses.

Recall that a few months ago MIT researchers report that they have managed to create a graphene-based material that is 10 times stronger than steel and has a density 20 times lower than the Fe-C alloy. The electrical conductivity of the new material is a million times greater than traditional copper material.

We can only look forward to the emergence of new materials, products manufactured in the hope that they will be publicly available. I personally am very sure that in the next 4-5 years that I can have my own bike weighing not more than 2-3 kg.
